Orion US recently completed an Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) move and Access Points Installation for an international beverage company in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The project involved moving of existing IDF to a new location. All existing Cat6A and Fiber were moved, terminate, spliced, and tested. All systems attached to the IDF were verified and tested before the site was handed over to the site contact.
The project also involved partial Site Survey design and installation of two outdoor Access Points. RF Engineer conducted AP on the stick (APoS) site survey to identify the location to install outdoor Access Points.
The details of the work are below:
Performed APoS Site Survey using Ekahau and Cisco 3802e Access Point with Omni Antenna outdoor
Install two Access Points using Cisco 1562 Access Point and Acceltex Omni Antenna
Verified the coverage was suitable for clients' business needs
Moved Existing IDF to the new location
Terminated and Tested Cat6A cable using Fluke Certifier
Spliced and Tested Single Mode Fiber using AFL OTDR tester
Verified the functionality of all systems and handover to the client.
A 12u network cabinet was moved to a new location. A total of 14 Cat6A cables were re-terminated and tested using Fluke Certified. A 12-strand single mode (SM) fiber was dressed, re-spliced, and tested using an AFL OTDR tester.
An RF Engineer performed a partial Site Survey design and installation of two outdoor Access Points. An AP on the stick (APoS) site survey was done to identify the location to install outdoor Access Points.
